Hello folks. Quick update on my knee…
For those of you who missed the details of my fall last week, check out Survival Lessons from a Wilderness Fall.
I had my orthopedic appointment today. I have a torn quadriceps tendon and likely some additional structural damage inside my knee that will be identified by MRI tomorrow. I have surgery set to fix everything next Thursday.
The surgery has a pretty rough recovery and I’ll likely be on crutches and unable to teach for six to eight weeks. As for my upcoming teaching schedule, here’s what’s going on….
My classes at Blackwing this coming weekend are ON. I’ll be limping and teaching with a cane and a full leg brace, but I’m mobile enough to teach the classes. The doc says teaching these classes shouldn’t make my knee any worse. If you are registered for classes this coming Saturday and Sunday, I’ll see you there.
I did have to cancel my September extreme close quarters shooting classes in Georgia. I sent all the students emails and processed everyone’s refunds. You should have your money (plus Eventbrite fees) credited back to your original form of payment within five business days. If you don’t get your money, please message me.
We will reschedule the Georgia classes next year and I will send all of the current students a significant discount code to compensate for your inconvenience. Unless I have serious surgery complications, all of the other classes I have scheduled for the remaining calendar year are still on.
I despise cancelling classes and apologize to everyone for the inconvenience.
