Ballistic testing of the 148 grain wadcutter target load out of a snubby .38. This load is known for its mild recoil and extreme accuracy. It’s a viable choice for self defense for anyone who is extremely recoil sensitive. No expansion, but 18″ of penetration. Considering that most .38 loads don’t expand out of 2″ barrels anyway, I wouldn’t feel bad about carrying this load.
