This is a short book (100 pages) that you can finish in less than an hour. Someone with extensive firearms training will not learn too much, but most of the tactics and techniques the author presents are very solid.
Where this book really shines is in the author’s suggested structured practice sessions. He correctly identifies what skills most shooters need to work and devises a practice routine for live fire, dryfire, and airsoft use. It isn’t anything that most folks who have some training under their belt couldn’t dream up for themselves, but it’s conveniently done for you here to save you some time. Most shooters would become much better if they followed the practice routines in this book.
The only part I don’t like is the author’s description (and his model’s demonstration) of shooting from a retention position. While not as bad as the “speed rock”, the author’s retention shooting skills need some work.
Ignore his advice on shooting from retention, but follow his practice routines! You’ll end up a better shooter and tactician. For less than $10, the book is worth purchasing.
