I recently tried a drill that I think many of you will enjoy. Click the link below for details.
Shooter Development — the Eleanor Drill by Sage Dynamics
You can download a printable version of the target at the link below.
The drill is deceptively simple and is described in the photo above.
I ran the drill four times with my Glock 19. The first run was intentionally slow in order to ensure that I got my hits. I sped up for the next three rounds. Times are listed below.
Round 1- 5.39 seconds
Round 2-2.84 seconds
Round 3-2.79 seconds
Round 4-2.63 seconds
I then ran the drill again slowly enough to guarantee my hits. The run below was 3.10 seconds.
Note that like many of these drills, I did not meet the developer’s par time. That’s OK. It gives me something to work on.
After shooting it with my Glock, I made a few runs using my .22 Ruger LCPII.
Round 1- 3.10 seconds
Round 2-2.87 seconds
Round 3-2.78 seconds
Round 4-2.47 seconds
Round 5- 2.56 seconds
I found it very insightful that I was considerably faster and just as accurate with the little .22 as compared to my Glock 19. That might be useful information for some of you.
Give the drill a try and see how you do.
